Free Tennis?

Anyone know of any tennis courts open to the public for free? I just need somewhere to take the kids for a knockabout so not bothered if the court is not perfect.

There used to be a charge for those courts. Do you no longer have to pay? About two years ago was the last time that I used them,had to book and pay at the swimming pool. I think you can use Richard Hale at the weekends and school holidays.

The gate is wide open. Nothing to stop you using them and no signs to indicate you have to pay.

Officially, the non-HTC courts do still require booking and payment made at Hartham Leisure Centre. The cost for 1 hour, 1 adult & 1 child is £2.50. Whilst you are able to walk on to the courts for an impromptu free knock-about if the courts are empty, you will be required to make way for any official bookings who turn up. If you wish to plan a session then I am sure that £2.50 is not a hardship.
