Gascoyne Way
As we all know the big grey lump that is Gascoyne Way will be closing for refurbishment soon. I'm unsure as to how many spaces it has (parkable ones anyway!) But of course when it closes it will hit the footfall of the town which is no laughing matter.
Therefore I propose an idea using Richard Hale Sch as a stand in carpark. Obviously it could only be used on Saturdays but will hopefully keep people coming into the town on the weekend. There is a huge array of spaces available and all proceeds could go to the school.
What's everyones thoughts?

This I guess is fine for weekends but no good during the days when the school is in use by teachers etc.... Could not Hertfordshire County Council open up at weekends its carpark up the top of Pegs Lane? I know they previously used it for a "Park & Ride" scheme that never worked, but the closure of Gascoyne Way affects all of us and the traffic coming/going in and out of the town. Is this an idea too????

People might have to use their legs...
Seriously, I trust that the guardians of the wardens (EHDC) will suggest to their staff that a little more leniency be applied during the closure of the car park.
Otherwise the footfall in our shops will be zero, apart from those of us who work in the centre of town.
