http://www.channel4.com/news/articles/vote_2010/vote+2010+fighting+on+the+beaches++of+cornwall/3612892 Does anyone NOT think he's taking East Herts for granted? He's certainly taking something and not just a tax-payer funded London home

quote:Of course he is, and sadly, understandably. It's the same reason Labour and the Lib Dems are putting up no-hopers against him (a union official and a 23 year-old respectively). The swing required to remove him from the seat is huge, and when you consider the prevailing political climate, impossible. The Tories could field a goat in a straw hat and it would win. I'm not sure who's to blame - the parties, the candidates or the electorate.

It has been said many times before on these boards, how can he be minister for Cornwall whilst holding a seat in Hertfordshire. Is this just not an excuse for him to influence matters in the county he is from?

Perhaps he's a vampire (or was that the other way round?).

In case you don't want to watch the whole report, here is a picture of our local MP enjoying campaigning in sunny Cornwall:

A couple of blogs with references to Mark Prisk's activity in Cornwall. I hadn't realised that he received a rebuke from the Speaker for claiming travelling expenses. http://libcync.blogspot.com/2010/04/mark-prisk-hertfordshire-tory-mp-who.html Somebody noticed his predilection some time ago but gave up posting in 2007. He logs a number of visits. http://libcync.blogspot.com/2010/04/mark-prisk-hertfordshire-tory-mp-who.html

This has now been picked up in the local press. The Bishops Stortford Observer has the story here. (If you read the Mercury, you'd be hard pressed to notice that there was an election going on!) I'm amazed he actually tries to use the (undoubtedly sad) recent death of this mother to explain his recent campaigning in Cornwall. What about the last 3 years?

" . . . when shadow ministers speak for their party they leave their own constituency . . . ". Does this still apply when the shadow ministerial position is fictional? The bare-faced cheek of the man to go on to say ". . . no-one was asking this before the campaign started . . ." in reference to his frequent Cornish visits in the past few years. So what of the posts here? And what of the posts/blogs elsewhere, dating back to 2007, that have been referenced to here? In my book, this is an outright lie by Prisk. [:(!]

Out of interest, was he there protecting Dave when when an egg was thrown this week? Couldn't spot him on the news footage...
