The Dolphin, The Lodge & Mercury rising
Whatever happened to plans for;
1) The Dolphin
2) The Lodge (on the corner of Queens Road)
3) The proposal for the old Mercury building.

I bet the solicitors are playing with the leases.I wanted to buy the Dolphin,but all that land went with it,a snip at 3 million..BOooo

New plans for The Dolphin were submitted two or three months ago by McMullens.

What we could really do with is a nice quiet restaurant/wine bar type place that only played nice background music. One that when you booked a table you were guaranteed comfy sofas to have pre dinner drinks on and to choose your meal and were there waiting for you after your meal for coffee and brandy! A nice roaring open fire in the winter and air con in the summer. Quality food, fine wines and mature clientele.

Flats and 3 houses on the car park at the Dolphin. Heard council wasnt totally happy with plans.

Original plans were submitted in 2003 - these are the ones the council weren't happy with. Revised plans were submitted late 2004 - convert pub to flats and build 5 town houses on the car park. Architect is the same local company that did Gravesons I think.

No, it was Kirby Cove. I think Norris were probably just the builders for the Gravesons project.

Admin, Wasn't quite sure where to put this but I have just defected (momentarily) to WareOnline and they have a facility for people to put review's on Resturants, Bar's - we have the picture's but I can't see a facility to do a review which looks like a great idea. Any chance we could do this, it give's a good overall picture.
