Well, we've all experienced the charities in town trying to chase us around the centre of Hertford wanting us to give them cash or a debit agreement, but last night DQ experienced a very persistent home doorstepper in Sunny Bengeo! It was after 7pm - dark and wet and If I said no to the Red Cross youngster (if he was a day over 17 I am Marilyn Monroe!) I said it five times and at one point I told him that if he didn't leave my home doorstep I would be forced to move him off! Hides like Rhinos these people. I give generously to charities I want to and try and Gift Aid to make what I give go further, but when you say "no thank you", can they not just turn around, say thanks and leave? A lot of elderly people live around me and I think they would find cold callers at nighttime very intimidating, this was a charity worker wanting you to sign up to a direct debit, not a shaking tin episode!me. Beware, the tactics I feel are becoming rather threatening....and nuisance like....[}:)]
