Fresh Beef
Can anyone tell me if Foxholes Farm in Hertford still sells its own Beef from the Farm.I remember having some from there a long time ago and it was excellent.

I think so, though the farm shop is only open Sat, if I remember correctly. You go onto follow the track onto the farm then -- logically enough -- follow the road signs marked "Beef".....

Thanks Mike,I must try and visit the farm one Saturday and check it out again.If I remember correctly,the price was a tad expensive but it was well worth the extra money not only for the taste of the beef but peace of mind knowing that it is home reared and not full of undesirable extras....!

The best way for directions to the Farm is if you were coming from the A10,turn off at Hertford onto the A414 towards Hertford and at the large roundabout where Lancasters are,take the 1st exit onto the Hertford Heath Road (not sure of number) and then the Farm entrance is on your left a few yards down the road.It is named A R Smith but everyone knows it as Foxholes farm.Just follow the road upto the top and the shop is at the house.

Thanks for that Justin.I checked out the website and menus and it all looks Mmmmmm.Hope to visit in the near future.It has been many years since I was last there,and then it was called the Reindeer.I often ended up there on my way home to Bengeo after a Friday night out in the town.It all looks very nice now.
