Hartham leisure centre
I'm considering joining the leisure centre mainly to use the gym. Had never been there before, but went for a quick look round on Sunday. The gym looked OK, lots of new equipment, but just wanted to get some feedback from people who've used Hartham before. Dio they keep it clean? And does it get ridiculously overcrowded first thing in the morning?

Are there any opinions on this as I too, am thinking of joining also for the gym rather than pool.

my husband joined in January (he used to go to Cannons) and he can't rate Hartham highly enough. Don't know about first thing in morning, as he goes later at night, but other than the showers being rubbish (you have to run around under it to try and get wet, apparently) he can't fault it at all.

Husband and I joined in February and we're glad we did. The equipment is really good and even during busy times I've never had to wait to get onto a machine. The changing rooms are OK - yes, I agree the showers are not exactly powerful and I couldn't wash my hair in them, but I don't really expect too much of leisure centre showers!
The only downside for me are some of the people who work there - they can be rude and obnoxious. One example is that my card wasn't letting me through the turnstile, so I told one of the girls at reception. She said, very loudly, "You must owe us money, that's the only reason it wouldn't let you through"! a) I pay by direct debit so no, I didn't owe them money, b) the next second they found out the whole card system had failed and wasn't letting anyone through. She didn't apologise to me though. Also, I've been there early (when it opens at 6.15am) and had to wait 20 minutes for the person to turn up to open up the gym, which is v annoying. But overall, good value for money and very convenient.

Went swimming at the pool. I agree with the above that the front desk staff are always rude.
More of a concern –has anybody else had a pimply whitehead rash after swimming in the toddler pool? mine was all around my buttocks on both sides where I was sitting on the steps in a few inches of water, supervising one of the kids. Our youngest had a similar sparse rash all over. cleared up after a week, haven't been back to the pool since so don't know if it would happen again. Could be unrelated but I thought I'd ask if anyone else has had this after going to the pool?

Not us....my 7 month old and I have just completed a 12 week swi
Swimming course and have had no rashes.

Hmm...no rashes for me, nor have I ever found the front staff rude.
