I've reported it by email to Three Valleys Water including a link to your post. They wouldn't normally attend a burst on private property but as it is empty and there is a potential threat to neighbouring property they may just turn out to investigate and turn off the stop cock.

I phoned.. David Perkins Chartered Surveyors 27, Railway Street, Hertford, SG14 1BA Telephone: 01992586505 ..a while back as they had a for rent sign in there to see what the owners were prepared to accept for either the Free or Leasehold. Didn't sound like they were interested in doing anything with the place to be honest, so maybe toughing it out with a view to getting permission for change of use or levelling the site for redevelopment. Had no idea it had been sold since.

It was purchased by Chase Developments from Bob Hill/the bank. They sold the front part to a private person who was going to open a shop/hair salon etc. The rear part has been retained for development into 1/2 houses. I did pass the message on to the owners about the burst pipe, but had no reply

Thanks for filling in the history here KK. When did this transaction take place? Can't recall any advertising of it. Pity, would have made a lovely pub with those big fireplaces!

They bought it from receivers I think - about 2 years ago maybe. It would make a fab restaurant or pub, but not likely to get change of use. I did hear it was going to be a wedding dress shop - but no movement so far!
