Now that the model shop has closed. Where on earth does one buy airfix models?

Hobbycraft in Stevenage and Harlow do them I think, not sure how large the range is though

I think you can buy them in the toy shop in the Howard Centre in Welwyn Garden City, which I think you can reach by bus. Or you can buy online at http://www.airfix.com

We now have limited access to Airfix at HG. As with all 'different' products we find it difficult to gauge possible sales in a product that isn't specifically art based. Perception, and all that.. Since the model shop closed, we've had a lot of enquiries for Humbrol paints, but a complete trade range would set us back nearly £1000. We do have traditional acrylics, of course. James May's Toy Stories series on BBC2 has also reawakened interest in Airfix models. Is there sufficient need in Hertford?

I also needed to telephone to ask a question and was answered promptly and the guy was incredibly nice. However, if this is for Christmas you should check delivery times. *J*[:)]

You can still order from Marquee Models via their website or go to see them in Harlow. Hurricane are good too. Hobby craft have some but then they are in Harlow too. Arty why not see about doing a deal with MM - they must still have the Humbrol racks from the Hertford shop maybe you could come to an arrangement on supplies.

At the time it was a spur of the moment thought....how to entertain a 5yr old boy with a fascination for making paper planes. Indeed as I trudged forlornly along St Andrew St. on my way home I did consider your good self Mr. Arty but thought I would be wasting both our time. Got any Spitfires or Me109s? Need to start the boy on something simple before we progress to the full HMS Victory. [:)]
