The Belmont, Burnham Green
I see that a new restaurant and bar has opened up in Burnham Green - believe it is on the site of a previous pub. Has anyone ben there yet and what do they think? Can't seem to find an internet site for the place.

It used to be a pub called "The Duck" a long time ago, they used to run meat raffles to raise money for the most spectacular firework displays on Nov 5th, landlords name was Mick I think.

Notice this place is always busy and it now looks very nice inside. The conservatory is due to be finished in next couple of weeks. Have booked a table for Friday night - hopefully it will be as good as it looks.

We had a very good meal on Friday. Good job we booked as was very busy and interesting to note that the bar was busy too, so appears some people just come here for a drink. Excellent food and good service, which puts it in my opinion above the Tilbury at Datchworth and easily on a par with the Bluecoat. And when we get some fine evenings, will be good to eat outside here and the patio area looked very pleasant.

Still going here on and off every few months and the food and service is still good even though some of the staff have changed. They now have summer offers on for some of the menu - 2 mains for £15 which helped reduce the bill nicely.

I hope that's not a permanenent state of affairs. That would be a real shame, this has been a very decent restaurant.

And still closed with no sign of life. Anyone know what has happened - been nigh on 9 months closed now. Was some rumour they wanted planning permission for flats.
