Strange how the more often you eat somewhere, the better service you get. I don't go there much any more but I must have rated it highly at one time since my wife always reminds me it was the first place I took her for a meal out in Hertford. High time to revisit and bring back the old memories. I'm sure at the hillside it's excellent service whoever you are, first time or 101st time.

only been a couple of times, but even when we've been pretty much the only ones in the restaurant the service has been abysmal. Tend to go to the one next to the shahenshah nowadays. Service not up to the hillside's standard there, but at least they are pleasant.

The Fandango clan tried Paddyfields again last night. Child (one 5 yr old, one 1 month old) friendly, solid food, reasonable price. One waiter miserable as sin but anyone who has been to Hong Kong will know that is normal. Other 2 were great.

i love paddyfields and recomend it on a regular basis. i love the service and wish it was the same everywhere! i cant stand feeling rushed when i go for a meal or someone coming over every second asking if everything is alright if it isnt belive me i will let you know!!! and if your one of those brits who never complains just cause they keep asking you doesnt make you say anything! i have been places where the chance to eat inbetween saying yes fine would be nice. at paddy fields if you want to talk you wave them over if not they leave you alone! sorry got quite mad! seeing as i have a day off (due to the weather) i might take a leaf out of dels book !!!!

Paddyfields impressed the Fandango clan again this weekend. Even offered to move us when some people lit up nearby(young Philipo Fandango 4 months old) when they were already v. busy. Top notch.

I was there a week ago. Very accommodating and the food was good. But I was a bit disturbed by the waiters loitering to remove plates, bowls, etc at the first opportunity.
