River fishing round hertford
Hi All
I’m hoping there are some people out there that are able to give me advice on fishing the rivers in and around Hertford. I am looking for places to fish for Chub over the winter and would like to no good places which are either free or day ticket.
I don’t no all of the area that well yet so if you no of any where could you let me no how to get there and nearest places to park.
Any advice will be much appreciated.

Hello Goldcoin.
Plenty of Chub on stretch from barge pub down to boat marina. Just before the marina where the water is pretty narrow is the best place. [;)] Legered worm or pole fish on far bank.
Day ticket stretch, Bailiff patrolled.

Hi Goldcoin.
Chub to 6lb 8oz caught recently on the river that runs along the back of the football pitches on the meads.
This stretch of river is controlled by the London Anglers Association and is a day ticket at £4.00 per day,(bailiff patrolled).
You can park in a free car park right next to the river,head down mead lane tack a left by mead lane cafe and drive down as far as you can go into the car park.
