Has anyone been to Inessence, the hair salon on St Andrew Street? Any reviews/thoughts about the service would be greatly appreciated. If not, recommendations for good hairdressers in Hertford would be greatly appreciated. I need to get a trim and highlights on my fairly long hair.

I too will agree with Mrs P. Tom in Saks is brilliant. He has been my hairdresser for over 7 years and really knows what suits me. Good Luck x x

Thanks, will investigate. Any idea on cost for half a head of highlights and a trim with Tom? And I'm presuming there is a fairly long waiting list?

Tom's my hairdresser too! I reckon about £100 for that, maybe a bit more.

I use another person at Saks - Hayley - everyone seems to love Tom for some reason but there are other hairdressers! I am having part head highlights and trim on long hair with her next week and its going to be £96

I think it's because Tom is a fantastic hairdresser but also he's a lovely bloke and makes you feel great about yourself. I think all the staff at Saks are great though. Louise is really good. Even my small children have their hair done there!

Just don't use Tom on your Wedding Day! My wife was in floods of tears because he made such a mess of her hair. She has voiced her opinion with her feet & now uses ISSI who are very good. .

So basically most are saying Tom in Saks is great, but not necessarily all the time, which is pretty much normal of any hairdresser I would say! Nobody, including me has been to Inessence, which I thought was more a hair colourist rather than hairdresser, but maybe I read their stuff in the papers wrongly. I think you have try before you find what suits you.

No i wouldn't indeed. I like to think the hairdressers I use and I know they do a "practice" with the bride to be to make sure its what is wanted, a few weeks before and if it needs tweaking or changing that's when its done so the bride on her big day has exactly what she wants. I am so sorry you had a bad experience. I use Headlines in Bengeo and have for nearly 25 years so count myself lucky....

Sometimes its trail and error to find a good hair dresser that suits you. Once you find one you stick with it. I think I have only had 4 people cut my hair in my life!
