I hope I am the only one that mis-read the ARC leaflet and did not noticed they have change our refuse collection day from Tue to Monday !! I thought the date they quoted was meant to be week starting 2/11. Saw someone taking out the black bin this morning on my way to work, and double check on council's website just now. Oh well, will just have take it all out and put it in the re-cycling bin.[xx(] Can someone let me know if they will definitely collect food waste double wrapped in newspaper. Thanks.

Yes it is starting week comencing 2-11-2009 which is today! Ours has change so the recycling boxes are still wednesdays but a week later so we have a 3 week gap this time! As I understand it food waste wrapped in newspaper goes in the brown bin with garden waste and cardboard so is collected fortnightly.

Given all the news in other areas where they refuse to collect just beacuse you have something they consider "wrong" in your bin, its good to know they are collecting all the newspaper stink bomb. Althought, I am not sure how they can tell if what has been wrapped inside the newspaper is all the right kind of food waste. ;-) Just have to remeber to pick up a few London Lite / Evening Standard on the way home !

You can put your doggy doos in a doggy compost bin with some kind of digester powder that renders it odourless and it then goes back into the soil to give nutrients to your flowers [:D]

The shunt stately pile is definitely a house and not in multiple occupancy, though I have noticed some small and very annoying people living in some of the rooms. I reckon we've just been forgotten again. It is a house which you'd need to know that it was there to find.

I am quite surprised at how many people have got it wrong and put out recycling boxes today that are not collected till next Wednesday, will be interesting to see how may black bins go out next week!

We still have Monday collections - although one of our neighbours put out their brown bin with the black one on Monday I had to check what the neigbours were doing as we have lost our schedule already.
