been to this place twice in under 2 weeks with my friends, first time we bought a round of drinks and as soon as we sat down 2 members of staff came along and took the lot and told us to leave they were shutting (not even 12pm), WHY serve us then? 2nd time we was chucked out after the manager overheard one of my group members saying how he didn't really like the pub, is that a really a reason to remove us from there?? Anyone else get bad staff attitudes whilst there?

Sun to Thurs it closes at 12am and Sat/Sun at 1am. You should of been told that time was called if indeed it had and that you had only had a limited time to drink up. As to being thrown out, it seems a tad harsh if the comment was not said in a loud/rude or diparaging way.

I was reluctantly dragged in there by friends once and complained about being in there and was told to be keep it down. So I became louder and they didn't throw me out….gutted!!!!

wouldn't go in that place again - so many pubs in hertford that have more atmosphere for a start! i got rudely ID'd the one and only time i went in there. they may have been ID'ing me because I had no make up on and didn't look like i'd tried applying it to make me look a bit more grown up. I was dressed normally - jeans, winter coat, scarf... I'm 31 and had ID with me, and yet they were still off with me for absolutely no reason whatsoever. I really don't want to return to establishments that judge your appearance and let only the beautiful people in! The other thing that made me 'laugh' ages ago, and I believe the pub is over 21s, was that there was a young lady of 18 featured in the mercury in the section where you say what you like about hertford/your favourite pub etc. she said the six templars. hmmm. wonder if she got the ID treatment like me. i vaguely rest my case....

Its not over 21s. Still not a nice place there, dont mind too much during the day as its cheap but when busy it feels like a school canteen with all the chatter and clattering of plates. Not a nice environment at all.

my friend meerly stated in a polite not loud fashion to myself that he felt uncomfortable in there and didnt really like drinking there after he had received poor service once in the past. the manager came over with another person about 15 minutes later and escorted him out of the garden and made him leave, he was the only person out there so obviously wasnt making a nusience, then they same 2 staff members came over to us and told us to leave aswell. the staff there are generally very rude and i shall not be returning i will however be writing a letter of complaint.

Wouldn't go in there again! Was informed that I was barred !! when asked why, was accused of trying to touch one of the bar boys bums!! The Manager refused to speak to me. Nasty place

Is it me, on reading lots of posts about lots of our drinking establishments at the moment, they all appear to be aggressive, rude places, with dodgy clientele, obnoxious bouncers and/or staff and not places that any of us seem to want to frequent?? I only use the 6 Asbos occasionally, as its next to the Castle Hall and when doing theatrical stuff its usually open more than the Woolpack... I don't feel it has an atmosphere, its like a airport departure lounge minus the luggage!

There was also a large group of youngsters in the OXT last weekend. Alex and Hope were asking for I.D.s, which is not something that happens often there.

Have been in the Six Templars many times, mainly saturday night and have never had a problem, always had polite staff serve me and never been asked for ID (Iam 4+)! Only prob i ever had was one sunday afternoon when they cocked up my lunch order and ran out of lanb and didn't tell us and left us waiting for 45mins. But did appologise and other us a free drink. There is always a mix in this pub of young and old and will never please people 100% off the time.

copying the idea of the prince of wales then - they do breakfast from 7am and seem to be doing well from it. it's a great idea!
