Battery re-cycling
I wasn't sure which section to put this on.
Where in Hertford can I take household batteries (AA, AAA etc) for disposal/re-cycling. I don't want to drive out to Tonwell, just for a few of batteries.
Thanks
Titus

Disposal - your dust bin
Recycle - Westmill Road take them, as well as Cole Green.

If you buy them from Albany Radio in Fore Street, once they are exhausted, if you ask politely when buying replacements, they will take you old ones off your hands for you.

The battery has a symbol on it of a wheelie bin with a big cross through it. I assume this means I can't put it in with the houshold rubbish and I won't be doing the environment much good by driving out to Westmill or Cole Green, just for a few AA batteries.
I'm trying to do the right thing here, but it doesn't seem easy. Surely there should be somewhere in town where I can officially recycle my batteries?

What sort of battery is it? Make/range/chemistry.

The reception area at T-Mobile HQ in Hatfield has a recycling bin for household batteries - not sure if it has to be a specific make/range/chemistry - household batteries are household batteries...no?

Sorry, Tonwell doesn't show up in Google Maps - no idea where it is.
