Tesco To Propose Extention
Following the withdrawl of their planning appeal, Tesco are apparently going to propose a 6500 sq.ft extention to the existing store, thereby increasing it's size by 25%. Apparently there will be no loss of parking spaces.

This is the compromise that I was expecting. They will still have to satisfy the Herts Highway's concerns as the road infrastructure hasn't really changed since the store was built. An increase in Heavy Goods vehicles might still become a major factor in any new application becoming successful.
I'll be interested in seeing the new application. Does anyone know when it is available to view?

I thought the plans of both Sainsburys and Tescos were BOTH going to be looked at in September???? How does this affect that decision making process now?????

well tescos wont be looked at now they've cancelled it will it.
No doubt a simple extension rather than the massive behemoth will be more favourably looked upon.

Hmmm.. I would've thought that it still needs looking at and all that... I would advise a nice conservatory, with electric blinds and scatter cushions [:D]

Since they've never managed their car park or entrance in any acceptable way so far, it will be interesting to see how the propose to do so with even less room available.

That's a genius idea - you don't need planning permission (I think) for a conservatory so they could build the mother of all conservatories and no-one could touch them[:)]

unlikely; I doubt tesco would risk the wrath. They're far more likely to just keeep perseverring with the process until they get the permission they need.
Starbucks on the other hand have a habit and indeed established history of ignoring planning regulations.
