River Lea clean-up request?

Like many people, I love a walk along the Lea Navigation towpath. I telephoned British Waterways this week about the state of the river-bed at Ware and was told that they only remove stuff (shopping trollies, doors) when they get a request to do so. I had that same reply six months ago when I saw the same problem at Hartham. I am prepared to continue to put pressure on British Waterways but I am not sure I am going to get anywhere. I am getting tired of seeing shopping trollies, doors and other stuff ending up in the river. Is anyone interested in helping me out to clean it up? This a big ask; I'll need a boat, life jackets and lines, and a few brave people.

Have you thought about asking the local Sea Cadets for help? They have boats and qualified people to drive them so they may be willing to get involved in a community service project.
