Just wondered if anyone has found my wig. Lost it between the post office and wh smith yesterday afternoon around 3.30-4pm. My cousin thinks she may have seen an obese woman with a red skirt wearing it but she was quite far away it. If found please let me know, it has some senitmental value to me. Thanks.

Hi Manaton. I take it this is a white, powdered, weasel hair issue as used by the legal profession rather than the standard hairpiece of choice for Phil Spector, Paul Gadd and other less reviled citizens? ;) Hope you get it back soon. Not exactly like finding a tenner on the pavement after all and not much use to anyone else either.

thanks for the messages, no sightings of the wig this weekend, i am concerned someone may have chucked it in the river. if anyone going fishing sees a wig floating down the river please try and hook it out for me. thanks. no offence to the portly lady mentioned earlier, but if that is you, please do get in touch, the wig has been in my family for 2 generations, it belonged to my gran's friend. i am not trying to freak you out but her friend was wearing it when she fell off a routemaster bus in london and she gave it to my gran. no-one knows where she got the wig from or why she was wearing that day.

no sign of the wig, and it is getting more and more unlikely it will be recovered. i will check with the police although i doubt they are going to take it very seriously. i am thinking of putting posters up around the town like the lady with the missing tortoise called sid. the wig has a funny history really, my aunt tried it on and went into labour and she gave birth to twins, which was not expected.

saucy, the twins. then there was the time my gran hung it out to dry on the line, she put in her handbag on the way to church so the birds would not dirty it, and she left her handbag in the church. apparently the person who opened her handbag got a shock when she opened the bag and saw the wig.

just to let you all know, the wig has been returned. it found its way back to me, as i knew it would. wet and matted, but intact none the less. thank god for fishing rods.
