Hertford Golf Club

Does anyone else know the story behind the brown golf course sign that has been installed on the road to hertford heath where they did the road development (just up from the Balls Park entrance). I have found online references to a new Hertford Golf course "coming in 2008" but given we are now 09 and it only looks like an entrance has been built (I assume a clubhouse and golf course take quite a while to build, greens especially...) I guess this would be 2011 or 12 at the earliest... Anyone got any info?

Given that planning permission was first granted 18 year ago ([url="http://e-services.eastherts.gov.uk/swiftlg/apas/run/WPHAPPDETAIL.DisplayUrl?theApnID=3/91/1068/OP&backURL=%3Ca%20href=wphappcriteria.display?paSearchKey=149781%3ESearch%20Criteria%3C/a%3E%20%3E%20%3Ca%20href=%27wphappsearchres.displayResultsURL?ResultID=320369%26StartIndex=1%26SortOrder=APNID:asc%26DispResultsAs=WPHAPPSEARCHRES%26BackURL=%3Ca%20href=wphappcriteria.display?paSearchKey=149781%3ESearch%20Criteria%3C/a%3E%27%3ESearch%20Results%3C/a%3E"]3/91/1068/OP[/url]) and renewed twice since. I would imagine that development will proceed at a similarly leisurely pace. [:D] The road development was to allow the new entrance to be put in - one of the conditions of planning approval.

I have to concur, I've been passed the site a few times in recent weeks and there only seems to be a single digger and a couple of workers at any one time. Shame that such a large swathe of productive agricultural land is giving way for yet another golf course.
