Theft
Just to let you all know - a car was broken into last night in Tower St, Bengeo.
The police have just called round and spoke to my wife and informed them that a car was broken into in Duncombe Rd the night before also.
Thought it best to give people warning as obviously someone is working in the area and pinching things that are left in cars.
Thankfully, the theives only got away with some old clothes but it's left our neighbours with a nice bill for a new window.
Be on the look out as there is probably a good chance they will be out again tonight and tomorrow night.

Thanks for the warning, my car is in the garage and the only one left out is always empty!
I think the people 1/2 way up Port Hill have had similar problems I noticed the car there had it back window smashed a couple of weeks ago.

Indeed - very non-pc! You paid your 10p and shuffled into a small tent, floor covered in sawdust, to witness a lady of advancing years, topless, with a few rodents crawling over her.
I see that this thread was 'things you remember as a kid' now - actually I reckon it was in the seventies that I saw this, and I was a bit more than a kid. Mind you, it's probably the reason I get nightmares now!
Anyone else traumatised by this 'sideshow' as well?

Luckily I don’t have a washing line,£20 notes or a daughter but the thought that Rat woman may be back in town... now that does worry me![:)]

I appreciate the warning. What's nice to know is that before I moved to Hertford I used to live in a place where I'd have to empty my car each night and still check in the morning whether it had been broken into or not. And three times in a year yes it had. We should be glad that we live in a town where things like this are relatively rare. I've just renewed my contents insurance for £37.50!!
