Bollywoods Raided

I see that Bollywoods was raided yesterday evening and illegal workers found. I can't say I'm surprised after their stewardship of The Sportsman. www.hertford.net/blog/

Thanks for pointing out the factual inaccuracy, Aelle. The blog story has been amended accordingly [:)]

I see a prohibition notice has also been issued banning the use of the first floor due to "serious and immenent" fire risk. That's a pretty impressive record: A kitchen that gets zero stars out of five from health inspectors A first floor unfit for human habitation Illegal workers A criminal record for selling alcohol to underage drinkers And that's before we talk about the state of The Sportsman. The man behind all this is: Monir Ali Wellington Road Bush Hill Park Enfield

You can get zero stars by not having a particular document on site, everything else can be up to scratch but without that document, it is an automatic zero star rating.

I assume it has to be quite an important document though ? With all the other excellent Indiam restaurants in Hertford I now see no reason what so ever to go to Bollywoods. I dread to think what else has gone undiscovered...seems there is a history of cutting corners....

Not always. Environmental Health looks for an approved system being in place first, physical evidence second. They are public servants. Admin is king.

I would rather eat a regurgitated cold tesco value chicken tikka massala, than go to Bollywoods, I hope they get closed down and run out of Dodge!

Good for the Fire Service, the list of offenses was terrible.

I went there once.......didn't even get to eat. They'd given our table away, I could see my name crossed oput in their book. I was ignored for an eternity before leaving and getting a meal elsewhere. I will never go back.

It sounds like they are either incapable of understanding laws and regulatory requirements or are happy to ignore them........the level of disregard they have shown reminds me of their farcical mismanagement of The Sportsman. http://80.168.51.108/media/pdf/b/8/Sportsman_1.pdf

Count yourself lucky - the only time we visited my daughter was violently ill half an hour after leaving the restaurant
