Goodness me... I am surprised to hear that Kitty Kat, as we have eaten there on three occasions (the last time, being 16th December) and have been quite pleased with the food and service. Hope this is not another Heston Blumenthal problem..although having said that, his food is rather quirky, to say the least (snail porridge for instance!)[img]http://www.langkawi.dk/smileys/b320.gif[/img] I shall be watching with interest to hear if anyone else got sick. Have you contacted them to see if anyone else has reported problems? Food-serving establishments are usually pretty darn hot on hygiene as any negativity it has a financial impact (an estimated £160k for The Fat Duck and not to mention the smear on their reputation). It would be easy for your post to be misinterpreted as it stands so I have to ask (in the nicest possible way!): did you all eat the same thing?/have you been in contact with anyone with the D&V virus that went through our family a fortnight ago?/etc. Personally, I've never had a problem after eating there and am soon to book another evening there. The only negative I have about the place is that their cheeseboard is a disappointment.

We all ate different things and didn't all drink - so no common denominator! Have called them and reported this, they have said they will look into it. Don't want to cuase a fuss, just asking the questions. It is so easy for a virus to spread, as per The Fat Duck. It isn't to do with kitchen practice etc its just bad luck for them. The food was fab, great night etc, just a shame we were all ill after it [:I]

A group of four of us have eaten recently at the Tilbury twice now and no ill effects. We went for Sunday lunch and the food was great (booking in advance is recommended) - we all had the fixed price menu which is well priced whether you want 2 or 3 courses. But be warned - the main course is huge, so if you like your deserts, probably best to miss out the starter unless you have a very large appetite. Will definitely be going back again and happy to recommend to others. [:)]
