Newspaper delivery, Folly area.

( - Pub Landlady) We currently have the pub papers delivered by Martins. Martins frequently let us (& our customers!) down, either because of bad weather or staff off sick, then they always try to bill us anyway. No amount of complaining seems to help as they know they are the only shop that deliver to this area. If anyone else locally uses them and is as fed up as I am, then there is a solution! The lovely lady at sele newsagents would love the business, and promises to deliver under any conditions. If there are at least 15 to 20 customers to make it worth her while, we can once again have a decent paper delivery service. Anybody with me? PS see topic under shopping!

Why don't you just go and get them from W H Smiths? They are only a few minutes walk from your pub. [Just intrigued why you get them delivered.]

How about Gays on Fore Street? I'm sure they still deliver newspapers.

Sometimes it's a lot less practical to get them ourselves (work and daughter!). Gays don't deliver.

Less practical? It's a three minute walk to Gays there and back. [:(]

Less practical? It's a three minute walk to Gays there and back. [:(] If it's chucking it down, or it's under say 5degrees c, and you have a 3 year old who doesn't want to go for a walk, but you have to take her with you, then YES, it becomes 'less' practical.

Less practical? It's a three minute walk to Gays there and back. [:(] With a 3 year old, that 3 minutes becomes 20, by the way.

Nothing is ever 3 minutes any more with a child! The convenience of things been delivered is a lifesaver.
