Dangerous Hertford Town at night
Apart from an allergy to alcohol, at what point does someone think, "Do you know what? I am going to ram someone's head through a shop window"?
Is the town getting more violent after closing time?

The only violence that occurs in Hertford is i belive only when either The Blackbirds or the Stone House chuck out, This is where all the

Oh you wanna see the Elbert Wurlings turn out, they had a 20 person riot outside two weeks ago!! The whole night from 10 o'clock to close is just lots of drunk people shouting, screaming and some of them driving home!!

A spokesman for Herts Police said: "It took place at 1.10am on Friday morning January 23. What appears to have happened is a man has damaged the window whilst in a drunken state. He was given a fixed penalty notice, which was a fine of £80.
The Police dont mention anyone's head being rammed through a shop window , more Hertford Chinese whispers ?

Statistically, you are at low risk of attack, despite every mother's warning. Males aged 16-24 are most commonly assaulted, normally by males aged 16-24.[;)]

Didn't want to mention it after returning home Friday night in case my getting home safely was a fluke. Met a bunch of friends in town and I walked home with one friend afterwards without any trouble.
I wanted to adopt a scientific approach to the question raised so I (rather easily) convinced myself to repeat the test on Saturday night.
Thus I found myself going out to a party tonight and this required drinking in town and afterwards getting a taxi home, via several stop-offs. I am happy to report that I experienced no problem at all in town or at the taxi-rank.
I have to conclude that, apart from the odd immature a***-hole that is to be seen up and down the country, then Hertford does not appear to be at risk of LA-style gang-warfare.
