Stead & Simpson Closing
Stead & Simpson in Maidenhead St have closing down notices on their windows. Not alot left on that street now!

I walked past that yesterday. Doesn't it say warehouse closing? I presumed local stocking warehouse looking to shift its stock, not the shop itself going?

I got a pair of slippers from them!
I think it just one of their suppliers warehouse who is closing down.

S & S went into administration last year. Then taken over by Shoe Zone. They are now clearing out all old stock before restocking with lines from Shoe Zone.
As far as I know not closing for good. Might have done if there were another shoe shop in town.

Just looked at the Shoe Zone website and its more naff than S&S range[:(]
Yeah, they have a Shoe Zone in the shopping centre from the town I'm from. It's not that bad, but it's far from Clarks or anything like that.

I went into Stead & Simpson and asked the woman in there if they were closing. She assured me they were not, it was, as has been suggested, one of the companies that supplies shoes to them
