Have just booked tickets for Deco. We are having a meal and then going to the bar afterwards. Have eaten and drank here before and have always had a good experience

Thanks for the recommendations 'publandlord' and 'jjr'. Being new to 'Discover Hertford' I don't know anything about Deco. I was initially thinking about Baroosh for New Years Eve, but am interested to hear more about Deco - to be honest I don't even know where it is located in Hertford (it has been a few years since I was last out in Hertford as you can tell!!). Does anyone know what Baroosh is doing on New Years Eve? How do Deco and Baroosh compare - which is likely to have more atmosphere / people etc... How much is Deco selling it's tickets for? I appreciate any further information. Thanks everyone.

I have looked at the Deco website and it appears that New Years Eve admission includes a meal - resulting in £70 per ticket. As we will be eating before coming out to town, this may well mean Baroosh for me, or can anyone else recommend another option in Hertford? I know that Baroosh is £5/ticket, but as it has been sometime since I have been there, I don't know what a typical evening out is like there now. Can anyone explain to me the kind of night we will expect from Baroosh on NY Eve, and whether this is anywhere better for "30-somethings" to go to in Hertford as we celebrate 2009? Thanks.

Thank you Donostia for your reply. £20 is a lot better than £70 - what with the credit-crunch!!! Still a little pricey though, so does anyone know what Deco is offering for the money - hopefully a lot for the premium-priced tickets? Is so, are there still tickets available / what is the dress code / what time is Deco closing? Thanks.

I think the reason deco is charging £20 is that they won't over fill the venue. Talking to them they seem to want people to be able to enjoy themselves and not be too packed in and be be able to get a drink at the bar. As a thirty something, being an over 25's venue it is a crowd that suits what I look for on a night out.

Why don't they just limit the number of people rather than charge £20 per head? Seems like blatant profiteering.

Thanks all. Finally decided to get tickets for Baroosh (£5 a ticket. Open from 8 --> 1.30am, and has a DJ). They seem to have sold 200+ tickets already, so seems to have been fairly popular with people. Hopefully it will be a good night - just hope they have a fair few bar staff on, to avoid long queues!

FYI - ended up at Baroosh for New Years Eve. All in all a good night - sometimes had to queue a while to get served, but overall well worth the £5 admission! What were other places like in Hertford?
