Hertford should mean....
Hertford should really mean "Town with naff all". As far as county towns go, come on the place is a joke. the council is a joke and some of the residents main objective in life seems to be to winge about anything and everything. We have a nice new hopsital after years of people complaining about the old one, so what do they do.....complain about the new one and its blue light. The fiasco with the cinema is a good example of the councils lack of........well anything !!!!!!The casting majority vote seems to all be old fuddy duddy's ! I am planny a coupe!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think you're being a bit unreasonable there, itsme. It was hardly the Council's fault that two cinema operators decided to pull out of the project after submitting planning applications. And no-one's complaining about the fine new hospital - just the blue light.
And if Hertford is a town with "naff all", why do so many young people come from miles around every Friday and Saturday night?
You do seem to have a rather simplistic and derisory attitude. If Hertford is not to your liking then you always have the choice of living elsewhere.

Oh dear, oh dear itsme, you seem to be making the same point on many different forums.... my advice is live with it or move on.....where do you think would suit you? clearly Hertford doesn't and never will. Stevenage has got a lot of lovely blue lights, but I am not sure of the percentage of fuddy duddies, I suggest you research into that.. good luck! By the way the plural is 'fuddy duddies' and not 'fuddy duddy's' which is the possessive...

It's amazing! We've now spent a whole month discussing a blue light. Personally it reminds me of Vegas. I'm expecting Elvis to show up in Hertford some day soon.

The blue light was resolved a month ago. Nobody said anything about it until Itsme joined in................Itsme should have gone to the meeting if he/she was that passionate. I believe the blue light matter is gone...............until they decide to switch it on again.

Having been away from this site for a while I can only go back to the initial comment - if its a "Town with naff all" why does Itsme not get involved with some of the sports clubs (if your not up to it) you can just support from the bar, or even better, put yourself up for Town, District or County or, if you live in the Town Centre Only, the Development Board - or whatever it calls itself!

i think my adoptive hometown is fab, and --- dare I say it --- the council here is generally helpful, efficient and responsive, notwithstanding some inevitable straying from the righteous path (pecan crossing anyone?)
Anyone who thinks otherwise should try dealing with big metropolitan authorities.....

we actually need a bypass around Hertford between Hertingfordbury and Balls Park - Rejoining the A414 by the new Lancaster roundabout.
Then the afformentioned pecan (or is it a walnut) crossing wouldn't be a big deal.

Unfortunately I cannot see that getting the go ahead. But the impact on the town would be immense.

Yes, only little villages like Cole Green, Thundridge and Wadesmill are allowed bypasses these days [:(]
