Iconic Phone Box
Am I correct in thinking the telephone box outside the library is a 'Gilbert Scott'?
It's looking a bit shabby and in need of some tlc.
As the library is due to be transferred over the river in the future and other (less design worthy/iconic) telephone boxes are disappearing (for obvious reasons), can this particular piece of street furniture be listed - or has that already been undertaken?

I understand that this is a 1935 red ‘Jubilee’ K6 telephone box from the reign of King George V.
I think it should be listed - not many of these about now. Something that the Civic Society/History Society could investigate. Will mention this next time I speak to one or the other - possibly on the 'Gilbert Scott'. Some sort of rhyming slang[?][:D]

Good news Arty. Just located my list of historic buildings lodged in the rafters.
This is a Grade II listing 817-1/16/149 16/06/88 as follows.
Telephone kiosk. Type K6 'Jubilee' pattern, designed by Sir Giles Gilbert Scott, manufactured by various contractors. Cast iron with timber door, square kiosk with low domed roof. Sides and doors with margin glazing, telephone 'opals' over door, with unperforated crown motifs above.
I trust that it will have to remain where it is or moved like the Canterville Ghost to a new location 'telephono intacto'.

Seeing as it is listed, it may of course collapse of its own accord if developer inherits the site[;)]
