There are already two such shops in town - one of them almost opposite! How will The Woodstore be different? What's the USP?

if this is the same gut who is in maidenhead st on Saturday I would thoroughly recommended him for bespoke furniture - I have had coffee tables in oak and were superb -I know friends who have had excellent pine tables for dining and kitchens - can not fault - nice fella too!

Sorry to be negative but we asked him to make something for us. He came out to our house & discussed it & said he would get back to us. He never did & when we chased him he avoided our calls. So, we will definitely NOT be using him!

Never posted about "The Woodstore" but now the shop is open.. I was going to purchase a set of "rough sawn" style furniture from the Interweb, prepared to spend a fair few penny’s as its the main bedroom but still a fan of Goggling around for the best prices! Out of pure curiosity I went to the furniture stall on the market a few months ago and asked if they could produce anything similar to what I found online - although they had not done anything like it before I was assured they were more then capable. Got an email address from the chap (Ian) and sent through some extra details and pics of what I was looking for. He gave a pretty good quote, about £100 more then the online stuff but for hand-made/made-to-measure furniture I thought it was well worth a go. Ian came over a few days later to measure up and give a written quote, which was accepted with a small deposit. Took him about 5 weeks to make everything, the wardrobe was specifically made in several parts to allow it to get up the stairs and be assembled in the bedroom - 45mins or so for them to put it together on delivery. I've now got a stunning wardrobe, drawers, bedside table and mirror (if you want a pic or two, just ask) - Chuffed with the lot. I think Ian was considering sending over a photographer to take pics for a brochure. Anyway.. Popped into the shop last Saturday and can see they have made a couple of new items in the same "rough sawn" style we wanted - a similar wardrobe out back, and a large drawer unit in the window. Would recommend them; Just make sure have a good idea of what you want beforehand, and Google some prices of similar stuff and then Haggle!…. Nothing beats hand-made furniture that fits. P.S Paid for our bits way before the shop opened so I've nothing to gain from this forum post (unlike those odd ones evangelising the Merchant House restaurant!! ;)
