What was that? .. 8.10pm Thursday
Any idea what just flew over Hertford jsut then? .. it was LOUD!
Also, Did I see the Catalina flyover Hertford earlier at about 6.45pm?

No idea, but there were four of them. Made a pleasant sort of roooooooaaaaaarrr as they went over the Ware Road/Stanstead Road junction area, well, not actually 'over' the junction you understand but it gives an idea of the flight path.

Four Typhoons flying in a tick formation going north. Not a clue what they were doing but they weren't going anywhere fast.

I was walking through Waterford Heath with Mrs Muddy at about 6.30pm tonight & we saw a lovely large slow moving twin engined plane flying overhead in the direction of Goldings - is this the Catalina?

I was at Old Cross traffic lights and the jets flew pretty much over the centre of Hertford town. Saw the high-wing earlier, heading south-west. It was so quiet, but caught my eye rather than my ear (it also flew right over Hertford town centre). It could have been a Catalina - it had two engines and was high-wing, graceful and slow [:)]
Sorry, could have given advance warning about the jets but I haven't checked the notices this month! Slapped wrist for Sally, eh! [}:)]

I'm not to good on aircraft recognition, but it went right over the house very low as it passed over Molewood. Boat shaped fuselage, but no wing floats. Any help?

Yes that was a Catalina, beautiful to see flying so gracefully. I was driving towards Anchor Lane roundabout from Hertford at about 6.30pm and she flew over my head towards Hertford. She was quite low, quiet and gorgeous. Twin engine flying boat painted white, wow and I saw her flying for free!!

I saw that last night also when I got off the train about 6.45pm - great sight.
