We are househunting in Hertford and have been pleasantly surprised by the number of nice houses coming on to the market in the Ware Road (even before the market started to divebomb!). Does anyone know of any major developments afoot which might account for the number of houses on the market? We've heard about the redevelopment of the police station from this forum but this is much further out of town than where we are looking. What about traffic on the Ware Road? Is this a nightmare during rush hour? Also any wise words of wisdom on primary schools? They all seem to be pretty good and the OFSTED reports are all comparable, but if you could chose only one to recommend, which would it be and why? We are not looking for places in Reception but further up the schools. Before anyone grumbles about Londoners moving into the area and snapping up school places, I should add my husband grew up in the area, but after 20 years away is a bit out of the loop on what the schools are like now. Think Hertford looks like it offers a pretty good quality of life and a great combination of amenities and location. [;)]
