Typhoon flypast on 07 May 2008

It might be worth keeping an eye or ear out in the early evening on Wednesday 07 May 2008...there's a ceremonial flypast at St Paul's Cathedral around sunset. Who knows if the Typhoons may offer us Hertford residents another magnificent aerial delight... [:)]

Typhoons eh? The hotrod of the skys. I'm sure they designed the engine first and nailed the bare minimum of plane around it. The result is like a boys adventure comic cartoon of a plane. You should certainly hear them, if they come this way.

What a beautiful day for a flypast! I hope the three Typhoons make it! I'll probably take a peek out of the window at five past eight this evening, to see if they pay us Hertford residents a visit! [;)]

Thought I heard them before but I wasn't sure. To be honest, I was too busy with my head in my computer and on the phone shouting at people.

They flew right over the beer garden in the White Lion in Bengeo at exactly 20:05. Lovely sight! It's probably the best place to see them from too, which is why I walked there as I live in East Bengeo and they fly over West Bengeo :-)

Of course, Mr C just happened to be at the top of the garden and came in casually saying that he had seen them in perfect formation. I knew to watch - and missed it. Grrrrr. Thanks anyway, SallyB, I will pay attention next time.

I'm pleased that some people got a glimpse of the magical formation flypast. I'll post again with advance warning when I know of the next one :-) Glad to be of service [:D]

Heard them, saw them, didn't realise what was going on until I opened this thread this morning!

Heard them but unfortunatley they flew the other side of the house this time - and little_P was already in bed.

So that was the unholy row that disturbed a pleasant evening yesterday. This might upset some people here but I don't find anything thrilling about low flying military aircraft

Flew straight over the back garden, very quick but a great sight! Saw then shortly after on TV just to confirm that was what I saw!
