Post

Our business post has been arriving later and later recently - which causes us delays in sorting out banking admin etc. I believe it's not the fault of the dear posties, but apparently their shift pattern has changed. Anyone know what's going on?[:(]

Yes they changed the shift patterns so they have to start later, at least that is what I was told by our postie and have no reason to doubt it. He said at the time our post would not arrive before 10.30 am anymore and he was quite correct, even though we have a new postie it is usually between 10.30 and 11.30, not very helpful if you plan to go to the bank at 9.30!

I agree. Very annoying, though early post is only tradition. I'm not aware that delivery times were ever stated. Still, waiting for that vital componant to arrive, gives me time for more coffee and ensures my paperwork and emails get done, before the task of deciding if I really need take-away pizza, double glazing or wish to sponsor a homeless donkey.

You could always ask your customers to pay electronically via BACS? .. you won't have to rely on the late post .... on the subject of Post, I have totally given up on using the Hertford Post Office. I go to Ware now, even though I have to drive there, I'm there and back in half the time it takes to queue up in that stinky, flee ridden, under-staffed Hertford Post Office.

I'm not the only one to have noticed the infestation at Fore Street then? It's been at least two years. Not fleas though, but a type of drosophilidae fly.

I won't go in there anymore. I go to Ware or the Greencoates depot. I do miss the waiting in line outside the building though.

What is really annoying is that the meagre number of staff take their refreshment breaks at exactly the same time as customers on their breaks want to use the Post Office. And why is it that someone wanting to use the Bureau de Change takes priority over the rest of us who have been queuing for half an hour. I've never actually seen a 747 waiting in Fore Street whilst a passenger changes currency. I do agree with the waiting in line comment. I've exchanged numerous Christmas Cards with people I've met queuing. One chap even got his council house application approved before he bought his book of stamps!
