I thought the rarity value of this event deserved a post! They appeared just out of formation, around 7pm.

I was just walking down Bengeo Street when the beautiful nine-ship formation flew over. I don't think it was the Red Arrows but it was a marvellous sight!

I'm not to clued up on planes so just plumped for those I'd expect to see flying like that, but now I think about it they were probably too large to be Red Arrows! Impressive whatever they were!

They were nine Typhoons. Don't worry I didn't know what they were either until I looked them up!

sweet, jez_p! I wish I could have more advance notice of these flypasts than an intensifying roar. It's possible to get the information in advance, but it's not possible to get alerted to the military routes (according to my own knowledge, and confirmed by a good friend at NATS), so it would need to be a pro-active thing. I'm a very busy SallyB or I'd offer to do it regularly and post details on here. If I do happen to chance across any more notices like that above, in good time, I promise to post here so that some of you can eagerly stand in the garden watching the sky, and others can leave the county for the day!
