Wok-U-Like
Had our first Chinese takeaway from wok-u-like since moving to Hertford last week, food for 5 of us, a varied assortment. We were all rather impressed (even our friends who are the die-hard Paddyfields evangelists) I think elsewhere on this forum its been a bit slated? I now drive past this place most evenings and it always seems packed around 7pm? Has anyone else eaten at the restaurant recently?
- Make sure you ask for your free bottle of house wine if you spend over £30.

Do they actually do takeaway from from the Hertford restaurant now? Usually when you phone for a delivery, they refer you to the takeaway service in Ware.

They still refer you to Ware I am afraid. Use Ocean Palace in Hoddesdon. It is cheap and the food is infinitely better and they usually deliver within the hour which is very good since they are coming from Hoddesdon.

We've had takeaway from Wok-U-Like in Hertford before. And got the free bottle of wine without realising they gave them for orders over £30. The food was really nice.

They have always done take away from the one in Hertford, however they do not deliver. This is why if you ask for a delivery they refer you to Ware.

A bit off-topic, but I do some casual work in a similar place, except we do both delivery and take away. People often phone up and ask for a "take away" then ask how long until it will be delievered [V] [V]

We had a takeaway from Wok-U-Like in Hertford last week and I wasn't impressed with it if I'm honest. They were pretty basic dishes we had, so not hard to do them well, but sweet & sour basically looked and tasted like runny strawberry jam with vinegar added. Won't be going back.

Perhaps it was down to luck? Also since writing, Now when I drive past its dead! - perhaps now I've got the hang of the traffic I wizz by at a dirrerent time of day..
