I certainly felt it. Got woken up by my bed and whole flat shaking. Good point about the geology though. I live on the floodplain so the alluvium was probably more conducive to a bit of movement than the more solid bedrock under Bengeo, for example.

I was at work in London and although I recall an unusual rumble I wasn't aware of an earthquake until I switched on the car radio on the way home.

I was working on my computer in my Bengeo flat and definitely felt it. I was first aware of something tapping or rattling, which I thought was our storage heater (which sometimes makes a similar noise when it's on) even though I was sure it wasn't on. When I stood up to investigate, I could feel the building shaking - which was quite eerie. This was my first earthquake, as I have previously either slept through or simply not noticed them, so I'm rather chuffed.

I too felt it. It was very faint, a bit like somebody jumping around in a different room. I thought that in Hertford hearthquakes hardly hever happen!

A friend and his two teenage kids felt it in stanstead Abbots, and another friend(of a friend) felt it in lower Bengeo ... But for me, leaning on the washing machine on the fast spin cycle is the only way the earth moves now, sadly.....[:I]
