St Andrew Street Hertiage Open Day
Does anyone know what buildings in St Andrew Street will be included in the Open Hertiage Day, which I believe is taking palce on Sunday afternoon of Sep 9th. (Please correct me if I've got that date-time wrong). Is it the Town Council that is organizing this?
Are there any that are really, really worth taking a look at?

I am hoping so as they hold a lot of interest for me as my family were born and lived in the area 1800-1900

Seriously, though, the event is being organised by The Hertford Civic Society (not the Town Council) and details are on their website (link on
http://www.hertfordshiregraphics.co.uk) Jill Eames and Jean Riddell are the organisers and they have a list of buildings opened. We have some comprehensive 'history' leaflets of the street if you want one.

Indeed. It was a very successful afternoon, and we had 100 plus visitors. Very greatful of everyone's support, especially Michael Bland of Blands Electrical who owned this building before we came in 1992. He was born here, too.
As far as Sunday trading is concerned, no - this was a one off - and the £49.62 takings will be collected by Securicor later[:)]
Good to be part of such a friendly community.
