Mobile police video unit.
Does anybody know what the mobile police video van was doing parked on the grass next to the multi-storey on Friday?

Aha.. This is my argument.. If somebody doesn't pay road tax and they previously did, they are in the system and you can get their car and crush it.. but what about those who aren't in the system to start with??????? Big Brother.. god and his family .. Whatever happened to the bobby on a bike.. keep them fit wouldn't it!!!

Having an ANPR van checking plates is a good start in finding unlicensed/untaxed cars and drivers. Finding them generally leads to further arrests since it is that element of society that tends to be responsible for a larger fraction of crimes.

Hmm I don't see much evidence of this, car crime going up, people have accidents with uninsured vehicles.. again on the up.. I am a little sceptical, with good reason...

Surely as long as you are 2legal" you have nothing to worry about.
I agree cars that are untaxed will probably have no insurance / mot etc so anything that gets dangerous/ illegal cars (and their drivers) off the road must be a good thing.
I seem to remember reading these vans are staffed by retired police officers so it is not taking current officers away from other duties.
