Armed Robbery at Michaels Jewellers
Further to comments about the police helicopter circling the town late yesterday afteroon, there was an armed robbery at Michaels at 16:55 - a man wielding a handgun went in and demanded cash.
Half an hour later a man answering a similar description went into the BP garage in Ware Road, Hoddesdon and again got away with cash after brandishing a handgun.
Police are appealing for witnesses

I hope the owner and his missus at Michael's are OK as they are absolutely brilliant and always have a smile.

I'd second that. Have to say my Grauniad Reader values are being dragged in a Torygraph direction when I hear of instances of this(& others mentioned on this Forum) Maybe its just old age....

Me and you both.
Many of the town's tradsrs have asked me how they are. I saw one of the PCSO's yesterday on their way to Michael's and asked if they would pass on the best wishes of all those people rather than impose myself on them.
