Thanks for the tip Justin but I've always been scared to go in to that pub just like I would the Lord Byron in Northfield or the Covenanters in Kincorth. I seem to recall you're from the same 'neck of the woods' as me, originally so you'll know what I mean.
I feel the same way and live quite close to it. It's the frozen stares when conducting a three-point turn in the road that do it for me. And in summer , when your windows are down, they go all quiet while they watch. Makes me feel like a bunny in the sniper sights! What does everyone else think of this pub?

I used to go in there a lot 10 years ago and, like any pub, once you got to know the characters, it was fine. It became a great place for a beer on a Saturday night or Sunday daytime. I moved away for a while and then went back in there about 6 months ago on a Saturday lunchtime. It was still a typical Local but I felt uncomfortable (maybe because I didn't recognise anyone) and left after half a shandy. It's not got a big garden and the impending smoking ban will have an affect, especially in the Winter - not sure whether that will be good or bad though.
