It is good coverage of Hertford, but it looks quite old. I can't date it, but the Addis site has yet to be developed, and that must have happened quite a long time ago now.

I was thinking that too... Where we are there it looks like the work on underpinning houses has only just finished.. i am not sure when that was though..

This is part of the Millenium Map which was done by Getmapping around the turn on the century. The same images are used by Microsoft Virtual Earth and I notice that the copyright notices mention both Getmapping and Microsoft. I suspect they just buy in the images and provide their own front end. Slightly related, has anyone managed to date the Google Earth Hertford photos? I can't seem to find out when the circus was on, but it looks like it might have been taken on a Saturday.

It must be Saturday 11th October 2003, the date the photo below was taken. The circus was only in town for a week and I think the Google photo was taken on a Saturday because there's so little traffic parked in workplace carparks, but plenty on the top of Bircherley Green. The giveaway of course is the fact that it's market day! [img]../images/zippos_121003.jpg[/img]

The Microsoft Virtual Earth images were taken in July, probably 7 or 8 years ago.

It all depends on what's available from the various different companies that provide the data, be it satellite photos or aerial photography.
