Robbery on Welwyn Road
I have just received this:
POLICE are appealing for witnesses and information after a teenager was robbed in Hertford on Saturday afternoon (March 3).
The incident happened after the 16 year old boy had got off a train at Hertford North Station at about 3.30pm. He walked through the station and noticed 3 men following him. When he got onto Welwyn Road the males surrounded him and threatened him, one was carrying a knife. They took mobile phones and a small amount of cash before heading back off towards the station.
The offenders are described as black and were all were wearing dark hooded tops and dark bottoms.
PC Jo Healey from the Eastern Area Robbery Unit said #8220;This is a seemingly unprovoked incident on a schoolboy in broad daylight on a Saturday afternoon. I am sure someone will have seen the offenders walking through or leaving the train station and could help with the inquiry.#8221;

The dates on the "latest" page are incorrect. Today, Wednesday is 7th March, not 8th!!

This is going nowhere.
The actual incident is far more important.
Is this another case of the train lines being used to access a 'soft touch' town?

Ewoowar - Hertford has always been a 'soft touch' town around railway stations. I was mugged going across Hertford North foot-bridge 30 years ago.
You only have to spend 20 minutes around either station to 'clock' the number of people arriving and loitering with intent.

I have to say this was a genuine appeal as it was my son that was mugged. At this point I have just been informed by the police that they have not been able to apprehend the culprits. They are, at present, trying to lift the prints off of something he had in his pocket, which one of them touched, but this can take awhile. There have been more incidents ranging from London to Hertfordshire along the same lines as what happened to my son, so by working with Met Police they are hoping to get a result. Fingers crossed. I haven't been on the forum for a while, hence I have only just seen this, but thought I would give you all an update.
