Best place to get watch cleaned
I have inherited an old watch from one of my aunts. It is solid gold, but was bought in 1946 and could do with a clean. It is also missing its safety chain, so am reluctant to wear it in case I lose it.
Can anyone recommend where I could get this watch cleaned and also get a safety chain put on at the same time. It has great sentimental value, even if it's not that valuable, so I want to take it somewhere that has been recommended.

I would recommend Michaels Jewelry Repairs in Railway Street, friendly service and never had a problem there.

I would recommend Robert Horton Antiques and Clock Repairs on Parliament Square, next to Botsfords Ironmongers. Bob is a watch maker and an expert at renovating antique watches. He has even repairs an old Rolex we had. Highly recommended and a wonderful shop to just visit - amazing old clocks and furniture and a beautiful smell of wood polish!
