Best new music breaks in Hertford!
I see The Marquee is breaking new music again.
10 months ago, The Feeling played the Marquee, 1 week before their first of 4 top ten hits.
This Year? I see the Ghosts are playing, on the same bill as Air Traffic.
Lets look back in 12 months. Ghost are going to be as big as The Feeling. The Dude told ya!

As you might surmise from the lack of response, not a great many members of this forum are supporters of the sort of new live music promoted by The Strange Place Club at the Marquee. The Marquee has its own forum which is pretty quiet at the moment but might take off in time and might be a better place to post your comments. [:)] http://www.marqueehertford.co.uk/

Rachel makes a good point. New music is for young people and young people drive their souped-up Citroen Saxo's around Tesco car park and slash tyres in Bengeo. You'll get short shrift round 'ere.
Seriously, I've never heard of any of the bands you mention but hey I'm in my thirties (just). It's surprising how quickly you abandon the search for new music and settle into dotage with your Jim Reeves LP's.

Good post Dude (although I really can't stand the Feeling). Not sure about Rachel's post - I read this forum and I also really dig what the Marquee does. I'm really grateful someone is making an effort with live bands etc. in Hertford. Karaoke or a covers band can be fun but doesn't really cut it for me, sorry. Some of us are getting on (me included) but we're not all ready for pipe and slippers and 70's reunions!

I'm 35, but that doesn't stop me from knowing a good new tune! [:)]
You'd be amazed how many good bands come through the ranks at the likes of the Marquee and the Harlow Square.
In the space of a month I've got Ghosts and Air Traffic to look farward to, as well as Mika and the Twang....and 80's icon Black!
Its a Wonderful Wonderful life! (when they play Enfield!)

Sorry to disagree with you but 78's were not as flexible as later vinyl records and were more likely to break if dropped....
