Lost Free For All section & Limewire alternative!
Way back when we had the Free For All I posted a query about Firewalls & Limewire. Some kind soul posted the name of a better alternative to Limewire. I know that section had been locked on expiry, but didn't realise until now that it had been consigned to the Dim & Distant Hidden Archival. I have tried searching but...nowt[:(]
Having been given an iPod for xmas (very chuffed) I decided to get rid of my Limewire and go for the new Wossname Software, but can't find the Forbidden Topic Section and thus the kind soul's advice.
Yes - nothing to do with Hertford, yet I beg you: pander to a nearly-hip fuddy-duddy before the last of me hair falls out![:)]

Go to http://labs.google.com/sets?hl=en&q1=limewire&q2=morpheus&q3=&q4=&q5=&btn=Large+Set to get a feel for the breadth of P2P clients. Tread carefully though - with the access to freebie software, music and the like comes the very real possibility of getting the cyber equivalent of a studded gardening glove stuffed up yer khyber. Still - it's cheaper to cleanse your PC than pay for all that gubbins. And as for musical royalties, well bugger that . Musicians are all bloody wasters - with their long hair and their supplementary benefits and their dubious 'contribution' to our culture. Layabouts!

exactly. You can use http://isohunt.com with a bit-torrent client like utorrent (google it). Downloads much faster. There are private torrent sites around too, that give you faster downloads and a lot less chance of getting a visit from the plod. The only downside is they're like clubs, so you have to be recommended by an existing member. If you dont know anyone, stick to Isohunt. Happy listening!

Just a thought guys but do you really want to advertise your dodgy downloading activities to the world through this forum? [:0]

Doesn't mean you are downloading dodgy things. There are plenty of legitimate things out there to download too! [:)]
