I certainly wasn't and I live very close to the proposed site. Hertford County Hospital is also close to the site, I am sure they will be pleased.

The increase in mobile phone masts is worrying considering that there are still doubts over the claims that micro waves used by such phones are safe. Being near to the hospital is also a cause for concern.

I would've preferred an Orange mast - my reception is terrible/non-existant! O2 is the only decent one that works in my house. pah!

With more cell sites around signal power from modern phones is often reduced by the respective unit to a level required to maintain the contact. Newer phones are theoretically safer than older ones which required higher outputs (and SAR values) to reach distant cell masts. There's masses more material available on the net supporting all arguments but you can't just make a sweeping statement that mobile telephone transmissions are dangerous, without examination of all the facts, (which I'm not suggesting we should do either!) In any event it seems the application has been withdrawn...

From what I understand, if you withdraw an application before it gets refused you are able to resubmit revised plans later. I think once an application is submitted, you are able to get advice as to how to improve the application so it will get approved. Something like a pre-mot check I guess. You haven't heard the last of the O2 mast.

We know now to keep our eyes peeled for second application so that we can try to stop it, the last one, we knew nothing about until it was too late.
