Burglaries - Sele Farm
Is anyone else aware of the spate of burglaries happening in Sele Farm at the moment? There was one reported in Thieves Lane in this weeks Mercury, but as far as I know, the ones I know of in Burnett Square (x2) and Bentley Road (x1) have not. I had a leaflet through my door from Herts Constabulary warning me that there has been burglaries in the area. When I first saw this, I thought it was probably kids, but now I am not so sure, as they are taking place during the early hours while the residents are asleep in their beds so they sound more experienced.
I for one am very worried about this and wondered if anyone know of any more in the area and/or if anyone has been caught for any of them?

I'm afraid it comes with the territory.....Dude awaits a swarm of attacks accusing him of bad mouthing these areas, even though they equate to 76% of the local petty crime....

We live on Sele Farm and havent heard anthing... not even a leaflet through the door. Are all the burglaries happening on the same side of the estate???

They got into the house in Thieves Lane through an open window.
Surprised that they are burgling houses on Sele Farm. After all it is the most deprived part of Hertford, there's probably nothing worth nicking apart from a few ciggies and a couple of cans of cheap lager.

How is Sele Farm the most deprived area in Hertford? Is it any worse than Hornsmill, Pinehurst or Bengeo?

Statistically yes.
In employment terms, it is the most deprived in East Herts. It is also the worst in the district for child poverty.
