Wandered past Claydon's (The old wet fish shop)this morning and noticed that the scaffolding is up and the builders are in. Any whispers as to what it might become?

There were rumours of an oyster bar. If scaffolding is being erected it would suiggest work above the ground floor shope premises. Perhaps the retail outlet is still a way off.

The oyster bar idea failed at the planning stage I hear. I am reliably informed that we may be getting the original fish shop back. We'll just have to wait and see....or 'watch this plaice'

I *think* the fish is in the left hand window, while inthe right hand window there are veg. Difficult to tell though!

Saw a new sign up on the boarding there last night. Can't remember what it said exactly. It was something like "catherine watson" or "Giselle Peawhistles" , but it didn't look like a continuation of the purple pussycat gag or whatever it said up there before. Anyone know anything? Personally, I think what Hertford needs is a cream puff emporium, but the name on the board was evocative of hair or flowers....or both.

You could try passing a order through Mick Wentworth or Sandra on the fruit and veg stall. They are there every day and i am sure have John Workman's number or a way of contacting him. Think Claydons will be in town on Friday, Sat and Sun.

He gave me a full and teasing smile and asked me if I wanted a membership! Simultaneously morphing into the new Venice and the New San Francisco. Can Hertford survive as the worlds of middle England and libertarian alternative lifestyles collide? Now I'm not sure what to believe...
