With a nod to anti-social behaviour....... At about 5pm on Saturday, I noticed a youngish chap on the other side of the road to me, waiting to cross at the lights at Stag House. At the same time a group of delightful Hertford Honeys - young girls aged about 13, all being 'individuals' in the usual uniform of bellies hanging out, black bomber jackets, too much make-up etc., were also waiting to cross. One of them spotted someone they all knew on the other side of the road and attempted to attract the spotty oik's attention thus: 'Oi you f**king c**t, you f**ker etc. The youngish chap stopped and told them loudly and in no uncertain terms that their behaviour and language was offensive. At this he got the full-blown Catherine Tate/Vicky Pollard response, liberally peppered with swearing, but he stood his ground. 'You ain't my f**king farva you w**ker innit,' to which he replied that he was most grateful for that fact, but that if fate had treated him so cruelly that any of them should be the fruit of his loins, he would soundly slap their legs. He felt sure that their parents would be very proud of their combined disply of threatening behaviour, literacy and intelligence. This met with the usual finger gestures, and by now the Honeys were screaming and swearing hysterically at him. Perhaps his howls of laughter upset them? Not one soul stopped or commented on this other than one man to say 'perhaps you should leave it mate.' The youngish chap said that ignoring it is exactly the reason why these displays of anti-social behaviour have become the norm. The Hertford Hunk who had been the object of their attention hadn't heard a thing. Hopefully he had decided to distance himself from these Flowers of Hertford's woman-kind. Are we so afraid of our kids in this town, and nationally too? Well done that youngish chap.
